Who else would Havas?
Havas, the massive global media group, is our parent company. Without it we wouldn’t be the agency we are today. Which sounds a bit like a weepy Oscar acceptance speech, but is 100% true.
And no, of course Havas wasn’t in the pub when the agency was conceived in 1998. There wasn’t room and we couldn’t afford 5,600 pints.
But when we called them (asking very nicely for money), we found a kindred spirit. They were just as frustrated that agencies were standing still while consumers, markets and clients were changing. They agreed that integration – with digital media and creative working hand in hand – was the way forward. They kindly wrote us a cheque and became minority shareholders.
And the years went by.
And we made our reputation as a leading creative agency.
And the marketing world changed radically, just as we had (modestly) predicted.
And our separate successes moved us closer and closer until…
The possibility to extend our brand beyond the UK became a reality in 2007. Both parties sat down and successfully hatched a cunning plan for world domination. And by 2010, we’d built a network of creative agencies with our name on the door.
They’re popping up in all sorts of interesting places – Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico, New York... so keep an eye out on Google Maps for the next one.
